Carrie R. Capouellez
Attorney
Ms. Capouellez graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and obtained a paralegal position in the Philadelphia office of a top-notch defense firm. A few years later in 2003, she received her Juris Doctorate from the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law. She has been admitted into practice in all state courts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as well as the federal courts for the Middle and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania.
While attending law school, Ms. Capouellez worked for the Medical Care Availability and Reduction of Error Fund (Mcare Fund), a section of the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance where she worked with physicians, hospital administrators and attorneys in defending and negotiating the settlement of malpractice claims in Pennsylvania. After that, she began her career litigating medical malpractice cases.
Ms. Capouellez has represented clients in personal injury and wrongful death cases involving hospital negligence, prescription medication errors, surgical mistakes, birth injuries, failure to diagnose serious medical conditions and more. She is honored to help those who have been injured and families whose loved ones have died as a result of medical malpractice.
She led the firm’s pursuit of several pharmaceutical and medical device mass torts, including testosterone therapy, birth injuries resulting from use of SSRI antidepressants during pregnancy, Yaz/Yasmin/Ocella birth control, and metal-on-metal hip replacements manufactured by Johnson & Johnson subsidiary DePuy Orthopedics. She is currently working on Xarelto, Lipitor, and SGLT2 Inhibitors litigation, and is one of the head litigators handling medical negligence claims throughout Pennsylvania.
Carrie is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, as well as the Philadelphia, Berks, and Lehigh County Bar Associations. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice. She was selected to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Stars list by Thomson Reuters in 2010-2013. She was named a Super Lawyer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 2014 through 2020. Her peers have also selected her for inclusion in The American Trial Lawyers Association Top 100 Trial Lawyers and The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40.
In her spare time, Carrie volunteers with the CASA of Lehigh County – monitoring and advocating for Lehigh County’s abused and neglected children in juvenile dependency court.
